Special Events at Pilgrim School

Special events are a fun way of supporting Pilgrim School.  In the 2008 – 2009 school year we plan two major fundraisers:  a golf tournament and our Golden Gala.  Read more below!

Golf Tournament

Fore!  It’s the first-ever Pilgrim School golf tournament!  Join us on Monday, November 17 at the Braemar Country Club.  Tickets are $175 and include meals, a complimentary golf club, and a day on the links.  Sponsorship opportunities from $500 and up are available.  For more information about sponsorships, click here (PDF Download).

Funds raised will be used for our Elementary and Secondary athletics programs.  From Junior Kindergarten on, all students at Pilgrim participate in physical education taught by professional coaches.  Team sports begin in Grade 4.  In the spirit of inclusiveness that helps define Pilgrim School, all students who wish to join a team are welcomed.  Team sports include middle school and high school football; middle school and high school basketball (boys’ teams and girls’ teams); middle school and high school baseball; high school volleyball (boys’ teams and girls’ teams); and high school soccer.  Elementary students can participate in basketball (a boys’ team and a girls’ team), flag football, and baseball.  Pilgrim’s varsity Cheer Dance Team has won many national prizes, and the older students teach the Pee Wee Dance Team, with students beginning in Junior Kindergarten.

Pilgrim School's Golden Gala

On Saturday, March 21, 2009 we celebrate 50 years of Pilgrim School at our Golden Gala. This year we honor our alumni, the wonderful people who have benefited from Pilgrim’s education and community.  We will have tables for alumni from the 1950s through the 21st century!

For $100 you will enjoy dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions.  This event is a wonderful way to support our community and celebrate 50 years of Pilgrim School. The souvenir book will include descriptions of auction items and ads.  Please consider purchasing an ad to publicize your business, congratulate your student, thank a faculty member, show class pride, etc.  Prices begin at $75. Please note that after March 7, ticket prices increase to $125.

We are also looking for wonderful items to put into our auctions.  Tickets to sporting and entertainment events, vacation homes, gift certificates, unused airline miles, cases of wine, walk-on opportunities – these are just some of the items that people love to bid on.  If you would like to make a donation, please download the auction item form here [link] for further information.  In order to be included in the Gala Souvenir Book, all items must be received by February 20.

Funds raised will go towards buildings the Fine Arts Center on the Seaver Building roof.  All Elementary and Secondary students will use this new space, to be built in the summer of 2009.  If you would like to support the new Fine Arts Center, for which Pilgrim has received a major grant from the Ahmanson Foundation, click here.

Pilgrim School’s 50th is a major milestone, and we hope members of the Pilgrim community will come out to support the school by buying tickets and ads, and by donating items to be auctioned.  Even better, buy a table and introduce your friends and family to Pilgrim School!
